Connecting with the community - Sports Leaders are back!

Our expanded Sports Leadership Programme is back! We are very pleased to be working with additional state schools in the Oxford City area, with pupils taking part in a series of interactive sports sessions and educational workshops based onsite at the University.

The Programme connects 36 Year-8 pupils (from Greyfriars School, Oxford Spires and The Oxford Academy) with more than 30 University students assisting with the provision of sports and educational sessions. The pupils will try out basketball, rowing, athletics and flag football. Educational sessions will introduce psychological concepts of teamwork and frame academic subjects through a sporting lens.

This project is a valuable step towards the Vice-Chancellor's objective of bringing the 'Town and Gown' closer together.
